Recipe: (Frosted) Sugar Cookies

Baking sugar cookies is a fun activity to do with kids. They can be creative and make all kinds of shapes and afterward, you decorate the cookies. It’s not only fun for the kids, we like baking and decorating cookies too! We will share an easy sugar cookie recipe with you today.

⏲ 15 minutes
⏳ 30 minutes waiting + 12 minutes baking
🍽 15-25 cookies

Ingredients
180 grams of flour
150 grams of sugar
Half a teaspoon of cinnamon
Half a teaspoon of ginger powder
Salt according to taste
1 egg yolk
100 grams of butter
Icing (we make the icing according to this recipe, but you can also buy it premade of course)

How to make it?
First mix the sugar and butter. Sieve the flour and add that as well as the other ingredients for the dough and mix it together until you have a dough. Set the dough in the fridge for about 30 minutes with some foil on top. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius.

After the dough has set in the fridge, the fun of making the cookies starts. You can roll out the dough and you can make shapes of the cookies. Bake the cookies for 12 minutes. Let the cookies cool down while you make the icing, see the linked recipe in the ingredient list. You can give the icing color, we separated the icing into 3 bowls to make three different colors. We made a paper cone from baking paper to make decorating easier. Be creative and have some fun decorating these sugar cookies!
