During our three-week journey through Vietnam, we discovered some fantastic hostels that made our trip truly memorable. Whether you’re exploring the busy streets of Hanoi, immersing yourself in the beautiful landscapes of Tam Coc, or delving into the rich history of Hue, these hostels offer comfort, convenience, and unforgettable experiences. We also share our recommendations for Hoi An, Ha Giang, and Sa Pa.

Hostels
Hanoi, Buffalo Hostel

Located in the heart of Hanoi, Buffalo Hostel is a cozy hostel offering free beers every night and complimentary breakfast in the mornings. With attentive staff ready to assist with tour bookings and transportation, you’ll feel right at home. While the rooms are simple, the hostel’s central location makes it a convenient choice for exploring the city’s vibrant attractions. We stayed here twice during our trip to Vietnam and were warmly welcomed each time. Just don’t expect anything from the quality of the beer.

Ha Giang, Ha Giang Loop Hostel

Affordable and welcoming, Ha Giang Loop Hostel is the perfect base for the Ha Giang Loop adventure. Enjoy homemade meals and relax by the small pool before or after you do the loop. They offer basic yet comfortable rooms. We’ve booked our Motorloop tour here and we had a great experience!

Sa Pa, D&D Eco Sapa

Escape the busy center of Sa Pa at D&D Eco Sapa, surrounded by stunning views of the mountains and rice fields. Ideal for nature lovers and hikers, this charming hostel offers cozy rooms and delicious meals at its on-site restaurant. Explore the nearby rice fields or simply unwind in the tranquility of the countryside. We loved our stay here with the good vibe, pool and amazing food and would love to stay again.

hostels
Tam Coc, Tam Coc Village Bungalow

Experience rustic charm at Tam Coc Village Bungalow. Indulge in a delicious breakfast buffet and take a refreshing dip in the inviting pool. The staff is helpful and we’ve got a lot of information on which places we could visit. With complimentary bicycles available, you can easily explore the picturesque landscapes and attractions of Tam Coc at your own pace. If we’d had the time we would have loved to stay longer.

Hue, Soleil Hostel

Conveniently located near the Imperial City, Soleil Hostel offers clean and comfortable accommodations for travelers seeking to explore Hue’s rich history. While the hostel is well-maintained, guests may encounter minor inconveniences like small insects. Nonetheless, the friendly staff and decent breakfast make it a good choice.

hostels
Hoi An, Uptown Hotel

Treat yourself to a touch of luxury at Uptown Hotel, where stylish rooms and great amenities await. Relax by the rooftop pool and soak in panoramic views of Hoi An’s charming streets. With attentive staff and a delicious breakfast buffet, you’ll enjoy your stay just a short stroll away from the city center.
