Ingredients

250 grams of self-raising flour (1 cup + ½ cup + 1 tbsp)
190 grams of caster sugar ( ¾ cup + 3 tbsp)
10 grams of vanilla sugar (2 tsp)
50 grams of butter (3 tbsp + 2 tsp)
1 cm of peeled ginger
7 grams of biscuit herbs (1 tbsp)
1 egg
100 milliliters of buttermilk (¼ cup + 3 tbsp)
1 tablespoon of ginger syrup
60 grams of candied ginger (¼ cup + 1 tbsp)
50 grams of hazelnuts (1/2 cup)

How to make it?
  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (356 F).
  2. Cut the ginger (both fresh and candied), chop the hazelnuts into small pieces, and melt the butter.
  3. Grease the cake tin.
  4. Mix the dry ingredients (self-raising flour, sugars, and herbs) in a bowl.
  5. Mix the egg, buttermilk, ginger syrup, and butter in a bowl.
  6. Add the mix to the dry ingredients and mix it well.
  7. Scoop the ginger and hazelnuts through the mixture.
