Recipe: Cinnamon Buns

Cinnamon is a spice that shows up in many of our baking recipes, in most recipes cinnamon isn’t the main ingredient. But this time, cinnamon’s time in the spotlight has arrived.

⏲20 minutes
⏳leave to rise for 2 hours in total
⏳25-30 minutes baking
🍽 12 buns

Ingredients
For the dough:

500 grams of flour
10 grams of dried gist
2 grams of salt
40 grams of sugar
270 milliliters of milk
1 egg
60 grams of butter

For the filling:
90 grams of butter
150 grams of brown caster sugar
1,5 teaspoon of cinnamon

How to make it?
Weigh all the ingredients for the dough and mix them for at least 5 minutes. Let the dough rise for about 1 hour in a warm not-most place, cover the bowl with some foil. In the meantime put all the ingredients for the filling in a pan and mix it together while heating the mix. After the filling is cooled down and the dough rested for 1 hour you can roll out the dough in a piece of 30 to 50 centimeters. Add 3/4 of the filling to the dough and roll up the dough from the long side.

Cut the roll into 12 pieces and put the pieces in a greased baking pan. Add the rest of the filling on top of the buns so that the top won’t get dry. Let the buns rest for about 1 hour before baking them and preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius. Bake the buns for 25-30 minutes.
