Basic Recipe for Pancakes

You can eat pancakes for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. We like to eat pancakes with both sweet and savory toppings, for example, maple syrup, fruit, or cheese. There are many things that are nice to add to a pancake mixture like for example cacao. However today we want to share a basic recipe for pancakes. Beneath the recipe, we share some of the variations that we recommend.

⏲Making the mix 5 minutes
⏳Waiting 15-30 minutes
⏲Baking 15 minutes
🍽6-8 pancakes

Ingredients
200 grams of flour
2 eggs
3,5 grams of custard powder
150 ml of milk (we used soy milk)
150 ml water

How to make it?
Add all the dry ingredients (you can use a strainer to eliminate lumps in the flour), then add the eggs, milk, and water. Mix it together, if the mixture is smooth let it sit for 15-30 minutes. You can mix it using a whisk but using a food processor is also a fair option. Put one or two cooking pans on the stove and add some butter to bake in, then add some mix and bake the pancakes. Flip the pancake when it turns brown on the bottom and the top is dry. Enjoy!

How to variate on this basic recipe for pancakes?
– Add a tablespoon of vanilla oil to the mixture
– Add a tablespoon of cacao powder to the mixture
– Beware if you add (something containing) sugars to the mix as pancakes containing sugars burn a lot faster.

If you would like an extra variation on this recipe we recommend trying our chocolate pancake recipe.
